Each of us develops patterns of behavior that allow us to move through the world. Some of the strategies that enabled a person to grow early in life may be keeping them stuck at that level later in life. Physical symptoms become physical because they are blind spots for the individual. I help people make the connections that free them from old patterns.
Developing spiritual musculature is what I call the real core work. The core of each of us isn’t just our physical trunk, its the soul seed that we need to water with healthy practices. The spirit is a muscle, too. It requires stress and rest for positive adaptation just as the body muscles do.
The key to physical work is a body-mind connection and the key to spiritual work is a body-emotion connection. Feeling is healing and feeling is an exercise. In order to feel deeply we have to bypass the mind. The mind creates a narrative about what is happening. The body holds the truth.
I help my clients feel what is and give it the space needed shift it to something known deep within.
Physical training reveals pain—it is not the cause of pain, it is the revealer. What lies dormant cannot stay dormant when the body is moving. We can use physical work to move through emotional pain. We can use the breath to reveal and heal pain, as well. The physical body holds all the answers if we allow ourselves to listen deeply.
