“I am in my 9th year as a client of Giulia at Coaching by G and in my 80th year of life. I can tell I’m an “old-timer” in her gym when I compare the cap of my Body by G water bottle with that of most of the other members. Their caps are larger and have a groove in them for their teeth. Mine does not. I would never ask for a new one and deprive myself of the status of being one of Giulia’s oldest “gym rats.”… continue reading »
“When I first met with Giulia she asked me why I wanted to meet with her, my response was, ”I’m tired of yo-yo dieting, I’m going through menopause, I’ve gained weight, I’m constantly bloated and feel like crap. She stopped me and then asked, “What do you want?” I had to think about that before answering and responded with “I want to be happy, healthy and feel good about my body” She smiled at me and said that it was time to look forward positively and not reflect back on everything that was negative. This sounds so simple but it was a big aha moment for me because it was time to stop beating myself up and embrace all the good stuff in my life. Giulia suggested food I should be eating instead of restrictions, she encouraged me to be kind to myself, listen to my body and appreciate the little things in life.
I changed my eating, began taking a probiotic, stopped taking certain medications and started to exercise differently.
Within a few short weeks I was sleeping better, pooping better, feeling satisfied with food and overall, happier.
In addition to my own journey, Giulia is now working with my 15 yr. old son and he is also finding a new passion for health and exercise.
She is more than just a coach, she is a mentor and I’m grateful to call her friend.” – Beth Kaplan
I appreciate Thanksgiving, simply as a day to remember gratitude—always good as a concept, but even better as a practice. Gratitude as a daily practice is mind-expanding and heart-expanding, and research has shown that subjects who practiced daily gratitude had higher rates of cancer recovery than those who didn’t. But sometimes it’s hard to be grateful because it’s unseasonably cold, or because my hair doesn’t look right, or because I’m running late, or all three on the same day, plus… sometimes bad things happen, like divorces and car crashes. … continue reading »
Thankfully I didn’t. Everything I needed and wanted to hear, I got at that meeting.
Coach G has helped me start to align my fitness goals with my life. Her way of listening and understanding what you need is what makes training here feel so right.
I’ve gotten back to a routine that I had struggled to get back to all of last year.
I’m thankful for her therapeutic training sessions. Helping me get stronger physically and mentally.” – Mayra Solis
“From the age of 12 and into college I considered myself serious about ballet. I took advanced classes, performed, and taught ballet during college. Then my life went another direction (marriage, jobs, different locations) and sadly, dance was no longer a part of it—90 mph to zero very quickly. But my love for ballet never left me.… continue reading »
““Aunt Janet! What are you doing here?” exclaimed my young niece when she and her Mom ran into me at the grocery store many years ago. My aversion to grocery shopping is long standing. Vacuuming, laundry, and many other chores do not hold the same level of dread for me as grocery shopping. … continue reading »
“Body by G is a constant in our household. A place where my family has become part of a close-knit community. Giulia has guided my children in developing and achieving their goals, not only for their respective sports but more importantly in their everyday life choices. G’s coaching provides them with the information they need to promote endurance, build muscle, view food as fuel, and know that leading a healthy life begins way before adulthood. It takes a village to raise a family and we are fortunate to have Giulia living in ours.” – Elizabeth Koch on behalf of the Koch family. Pictured are Aidan, Rob, Finnley, and Emmett Koch
“I’ve just returned to training with Coach G after taking a three-year break during which I had a baby. I was working with her for about a year before that. I couldn’t be happier to be back. I never thought that I’d be working out consistently, much less with personal training and advice. But it is not an exaggeration to say that training with Coach G has had a huge positive impact on my physical and mental health.… continue reading »
“Coaching By G is a private owned fitness studio located in Oak Park, Illinois. The owner, Giulia Isetti, is not reluctant to let you know the truth. Honesty and truth are extremely important. As humans we have to believe and accept what is true but also what is false. Aristotle once said, “To say of what is, or of what is not that it is not, is true.” More lightly put, the world provides two things, what is and what’s not. Thus the truth and falsity. I believe this quote is embedded in her personality and this makes her an even better fitness coach.
Giulia Isetti’s studio is a combination of blue and orange colors as well as a combination of clients from the age of 10 to 83. Her clients are all different types of athletes. Rowers, hockey players, volleyball players, swimmers, runners, soccer players, baseball players, basketball players, field hockey players, and people just looking to strengthen their bodies. These clients provide a sense of community and kindness. Her dogs also help to provide these ideals. Her two dogs, Roadie and Lili accompany Giulia to work. They greet you with a friendly smile and tail wags as you walk through the door and they defend the studio from squirrels and other riff-raff at all costs. … continue reading »
I’m William Godellas, a 14 year old baseball player who struggles with engaging in a lot of things. I started working with Giulia a little over a year now, and I have no words to describe how life-changing her program has been for me.
The original reason I started at Coaching by G was to gain weight. I came in for my consultation at age 13, 5’0 and 80 pounds. Gaining weight had been hard for me as I never had an appetite and had always been a picky eater. Flash forward a year, and I am 5’9, 125 pounds. Her personalized workout plans and dietary help has been outstanding for me. Not only has her program helped me physically, however, it has also done so much for me mentally.
When school got tough, with studying habits and sleep, Giulia was always there to guide me and help me succeed. I know that if I were to ever need advice for anything, Giulia would always be there for me. Not only her, but the community that she has developed inside her studio. You cannot always pick and choose your clients, but Giulia’s clients all feel like family. … continue reading »
